Recently we were tasked with turning an old disused church near Padstow, Cornwall, into a liveable home. As part of the project we were asked to create a fire place that would be in-keeping with the style of the property. Wanting to mirror/keep the symmetry of the windows and incorporate it into the design of the fireplace, we created plywood tempaties from which the fireplace could then be constructed using thermalite block. Once the fire place was built, it was then rendered and painted.
We (and the customers) were extremely pleased with the result, the fire place sitting as the central piece of the living room. .
